International Union for Conservation of Nature

The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), helps the world find pragmatic solutions to our most pressing environment and development challenges by supporting scientific research; managing field projects all over the world; and bringing governments, NGOs, the UN, international conventions, and companies together to develop policy, laws and best practice.

Mexico's National Commission for the Knowledge and Use of Biodiversity (CONABIO) mission is to promote, coordinate, support and carry out activities aimed at increasing awareness of biodiversity and its conservation and sustainable use for the benefit of society. CONABIO has the mandate to develop the National Information System on Biodiversity, and integrate and assess data to provide advice to stakeholders and decision makers.

The National Research Institute of Forestry, Agriculture and Livestock (INIFAP) is an institution of scientific and technological excellence, internationally recognized for its capability to respond to demands in knowledge and technological innovations in the agricultural, livestock and forestry sector. Through its National Centre of Genetic Resources (CNRG), is the regional leading institution in safeguarding genetic material.

University of Birmingham

The University of Birmingham (UoB) is a truly global university producing world-leading research.  The UoB hosts the IUCN SSC CWR Specialist Group. The group has professional expertise in conservation planning and the implementation of in situ and ex situ conservation techniques for plant genetic conservation.

Centro Nacional de Tecnología Agropecuaria y Forestal

The National Centre of Agriculture and Forestry Technology (CENTA) is in charge of all activities related to plant genetic resources at the national level in El Salvador. CENTA's mission is to provide to the agriculture and livestock sector with technological solutions to contribute to the environmental situation of El Salvador, ensuring the food security and nutrition of the population and its quality of life.

Instituto de Ciencia y Tecnología Agrícolas

The Institute of Agriculture of Science and Technology (ICTA, Instituto de Ciencia y Tecnología Agrícolas) supports science and technology in the field of agriculture, with the aim to generate sustainable agriculture productive systems. ICTA is in charge of all activities related to plant genetic resources at the national level in Guatemala.

Comité Nacional de Recursos Fitogenéticos de Honduras

Honduras National Commission on Plant Genetic Resources (CONAREFIH), is in charge of all matters related to plant genetic resources in Honduras and its membership includes all the key institutions needed to support the project, including the Directorate of Science and Technology for Agriculture and Farming (DICTA). CONAREFIH's mission is the protection, conservation and sustainable use of plant genetic resources for agriculture and food.
